The Starlink Hybrid Case is designed to ensure fast and reliable satellite communications in mobile and tactical environments. In areas such as Defence, public safety and critical infrastructure, stable connectivity is crucial for coordination, data exchange and situational awareness.
The aim was to create a solution that not only protects the Starlink system during transportation, but also enables direct operation in the case. The system needed to be ready for immediate use in order to minimize set-up times and avoid additional handling steps in the field.
At the same time, the system architecture was deliberately designed to be flexible. This means that the solution is not limited to one provider, but can be configured for different Satcom systems. The case concept supports flexible deployment scenarios and safeguards long-term investments, enabling alternative systems such as Eutelsat OneWeb, EU IRIS², Amazon LEO, or future networks to be operated using the case.
A key challenge was to integrate connectivity, power supply and system accessibility into a compact and robust case concept. At the same time, ease of use and reliable operation under demanding environmental conditions had to be guaranteed.
The result is a hybrid system that combines transport protection with operational functionality. The Starlink system remains safely stowed in the case and can be connected directly to the power supply. A specially developed, sealed cable gland enables the connection between the antenna and router without having to open the case – the protection remains intact even during operation.
In addition, integrated LAN interfaces enable the direct connection of external devices and ensure seamless network integration in the field. The robust case design protects all components from external influences and makes the system suitable for long-term use under difficult conditions.
